For many people, going to a local farmers market is a shopping excursion, not only for fresh food, but for fresh ideas in food preparation. You can sample a new fruit or vegetable or just interact with the farmer/grower and find out where your food came from and how it was grown. Many farmers offer advice on how to prepare different foods or give tips for planting & growing your garden.
Farmers markets in Oakland County are also a nice place to meet with friends and family. Some have an assortment of play activities for kids, cafe’s and musical entertainment for all.
